The history of Masi is closely intertwined with their vineyards in Verona, Veneto. The name "Masi" derives from the "Vaio dei Masi", a small valley acquired by the Boscaini family at the end of the 18th century and still owned by the family today.
Historic Vineyards in Veneto
Over time, Masi Agricola has acquired other historic vineyards in the best growing areas of Veneto. These include the historic Valpolicella area, which has been owned by Count Serego Alighieri, a direct descendant of the great Italian poet Dante Alighieri, since 1353.
Unique terroir and production processes
The alluvial soils, the Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes and the double fermentation method using partially dried grapes form the basis of the unique and innovative personality of this wine.
The name "Possessioni" derives from the long form "Possessioni dei Conti Serego Alighieri" in the Valpolicella Classica region, which means "property or possessions of Conte Serego Alighieri".
